What “human-verified” means

“AI writing and editing, human-verified” describes a process with defined human checks. I help establish what reviewers must examine, what evidence they need and who has authority to approve the result.

Checks agreed for each document

The level of checking is agreed for the document and its intended use.

Checking meaning and editorial quality

Editorial review considers whether the document is clear, coherent, complete enough for its purpose and appropriate for its audience. It examines structure, tone, terminology, grammar and consistency, together with contradictions, omissions and passages whose apparent confidence exceeds their supporting evidence.

Checking against source material

When source verification is included, reviewers compare relevant claims, names, dates, figures, quotations and references with the agreed source material. Questions and discrepancies are recorded for resolution. An AI-generated explanation or citation is not treated as evidence simply because it appears plausible.

The assignment defines whether checking uses client-supplied documents, identified external sources or both. It also makes clear which checks have been completed and which issues remain open. External research or specialist verification can be separately scoped where needed.

Specialist review and final approval

Subject experts remain responsible for technical, financial, legal, scientific or other specialist conclusions within their remit. I support those reviewers by identifying unclear or unsupported passages and presenting focused questions. Your authorized approver retains the final decision to issue or publish a document.

An honest limit

Human review reduces the risk of error but cannot guarantee that every error will be detected. Its practical value comes from agreed checks, appropriate evidence and clear accountability.

Confidential information and approved tools

Before your material is used in an AI tool, the engagement establishes which tools are authorized and which information may be entered. Where required, training and testing can use redacted, anonymized or substitute material. Tool selection and handling arrangements follow your applicable policies and approvals.

Independent advice and usable methods

I am independent of any AI vendor. Work begins with the tools your organization already uses and has approved. If those tools do not suit a proposed task, I can help define the relevant writing, editing and review requirements for your decision.

The methods are documented so your team can understand and maintain them. When tools or instructions change, representative outputs can be reviewed again before the revised process is adopted more widely.
