Who we are
Global Village Language Services (gvls.com) is operated by TilyD Enterprises Ltd., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Questions about this policy or about your information go to [email protected].
What we collect
- Consultation requests. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, organization, work email, role, and what you tell us about your team's writing.
- Newsletter sign-ups. When you sign up, we keep your email address so we can send the newsletter.
- Visit statistics. We count visits with Matomo, which runs on our own server, not Google's. Matomo sets cookies to tell new visits from returning ones; it does not sell or share the data.
- Cookies. The site sets a session cookie that protects the forms from forgery, and a cookie that remembers you have closed or used the newsletter box so it does not appear again.
How we use it
We use a consultation request to reply to you and to prepare a proposal. We use a newsletter address only to send the newsletter, and every issue has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept and for how long
Form entries are stored on our own server and in our email. We keep consultation requests as long as we need them for the correspondence and any engagement that follows. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
